"Dragons" by Grade 5

Love these dragons drawn by my 5th grade artists. I drew some sample dragon parts on the board, wings, claws, horns, spikes, fire, smoke, etc… I also drew a sample dragon picture. They were given the option of using a simple head-shape tracer and then adding on, if they were not comfortable drawing the head. I think the came out great!

Name Piles by 6th grade

Imagine if you took a big bucket filled with the letters that make up your name and dumped it out into a pile on the floor. Well, these art projects may be what it would look like...
The students used block or bubble letters to create a pile of letters made using the letters of their name. The guidelines to follow were 1. the letters should touch to create closed spaces between them, 2. pile should get more and more narrow the closer you get to the top of the page, 3. try to make the letters smaller as they get higher, 4. color in the letters with a solid color, 5. fill in the closed spaces between the letters with line designs using Sharpies.
