I taught the first graders an easy way to make shamrocks the other day. They used all different shades of green to draw a group of shamrocks varying in sizes all over a piece of 12"x18" paper. Next they used watercolor paints to create a background. I did not give them any specific instructions for their backgrounds. I did give them some ideas to think about and I was happy to see them really using their creativity to make unique backgrounds. Here is a look at some of their creations...
Great work first grade!!
What were thes steps you took to create these pictures? Did the students draw the shamrocks first or did they paint the background first? What medium did they use to draw the shamrocks? Can you give directions so my students could try this? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteThe shamrocks are two shades of green crayon and they did this as the first step. Then they used watercolor paints to create any background they wanted using the colors of the rainbow. Have fun!
DeleteThank you so much! My little class of K-2nd will love making these pictures next week!!
