Paul Klee Inspired Cityscapes by Gr.7

I recently introduced the seventh grade to artist Paul Klee, a Swiss and German painter. One of his most famous pictures is his Castle in the Sun.

The seventh grade students created cityscapes in the style of Paul Klee. The used rulers to draw building shapes and then created lines and patterns inside each building. Many of them drew a sun in the sky. Then they traced over their lines with black crayon to create wax barriers between the sections. Finally, they used watercolor paint to fill in their artwork. I think they did a great job! Check some out...
