"Scarecrow Fields" by First Grade

My first grade students finished up these awesome scarecrows guarding their farm crops! I have been doing this project with first grade for a few years. I got the idea from another art blog, but can't remember which one! If you see this post and it was your idea, please feel free to leave that information in a comment. I owe you! I love the contrast between the muted crayon of the scarecrows and the bright colors of the tempra paint backgrounds. They drew and painted the background first. Then the next week they drew, colored, and cut out the scarecrow, then glued it to their background.

I think they did such a great job! Each one is so unique!
